Paul says that Robert – AKA Mr. Root – visited him in hospital the next day “without hesitation”, and brought along clothing, food, drinks, and “companionship”.

“His selfless actions were not prompted by any request; he simply wanted to extend a helping hand in a time of need”, Paul added.

After Paul’s eventual return to the UK, he embarked on a rigorous journey of rehabilitation, relearning how to walk and care for himself.

Throughout the process, Paul says she “held onto a promise” he made to Robert – to help him get recognition as a musician, DJ, and producer.

Paul added: “Robert had collaborated with iconic figures like the 90s superstar singer Rozalla, and had even remixed disco legends KC and The Sunshine Band and Nile Rodgers.

“My career in the music industry spans over 30 years, rooted in the UK garage scene, while Robert’s forte lies in crafting exceptional house and disco music.”

Last year, both Paul and Robert’s paths converged to co-founding a new record label named Proper Decent Choons, blending their individual talents and skills to release new music.

“Several of our tracks have already graced DJ charts and playlists around the world”, Paul added, “Robert’s unwavering support and belief in me rejuvenated my passion for the industry, prompting my return to the very essence of what I love”.
